About the Programme

This talk focuses on creating an awareness and basic understanding what lipid particles the human body carries in the blood, and which of these are considered bad when at high blood concentrations.

Dr Loh will explain the 3 major dyslipidaemia conditions (i) hypercholesterolemia (‘high LDL’), (ii) elevated lipoprotein(a) (‘high Lp(a)’) and (iii) hypertriglyceridemia (‘high Triglyceride’).

You will also learn about strategies and tips on how to reduce and prevent it.

Did you know that 1 in 6 people in Singapore with heart attack has elevated lipoprotein(a)? Lipoprotein(a) or Lp(a) is one of the 3 ‘bad’ lipid particles in the blood, which is linked to increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
