Welcome to the 'Seniors as Buddies: Strengthening Community Ties' Programme. This course is designed to empower seniors and the elderly to be buddies and become vital companions for others in the community. By participating in this program, you will acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to offer support, create self-help initiatives, and foster mutual assistance among peers.

Trainer's Profile
Don Yew
Don, a dedicated community leader, began his volunteer journey at 16 with the People's Association (PA) Youth Movement. During National Service, he volunteered for a UN Humanitarian Mission in East Timor, earning recognition with awards. He later joined the PA to deepen his community development work, ultimately advancing his career. Don's commitment led to a Master's in Community Leadership and Social Development from the Singapore University of Social Sciences. With a decade of experience in community management, he transitioned to social services, addressing caregiving and aging challenges. In 2017, Don joined SAGE Counselling Centre and completed a Master's in Gerontology at NTU in 2020. Currently, he serves as a grassroots leader and enjoys interests in running and online gaming.Don Yew
