Introduction to Japanese Nagomi Art

This course aims to introduce participants to basic techniques of Japanese Pastel Nagomi Art (JPNA) through hands-on practices. Participants will complete two pieces of artwork each week and subsequently apply the various techniques in their own exploration of the art form to create artworks on varying themes and subject matter for varying purposes (decoration, customised gifts, etc). Participants are also likely to relax and cultivate mindfulness through the process.

Dawn Ng
Dawn Ng is an Advanced Instructor in Pastel Nagomi Art certified by the Japan Pastel Hope Art Association. She is also an exhibitor at Love Stories, Singapore’s inaugural Pastel Nagomi Art exhibition in 2019. Dawn is known to be an inspiration to her students and some of them have even progressed to become certified Pastel Nagomi Art instructors. Driven by her passion for Pastel Nagomi Art, she regularly conducts public and private workshops and events to help others discover their artistic abilities in artmaking. Dawn attests to the restorative benefits of Pastel Nagomi Art as it enables painters to practice mindfulness and reduce stress levels.Reviews on Course
