Handyman: Electrical Appliance Repair

In this 7-hour course, participants will gain a basic understanding of how appliances work and identify electrical risks. They will learn how to diagnose and make electrical repairs connected to appliances. These practical technical skills will allow participants to stay relevant in a present-day society where electronics consumption and occurrences of a breakdown increase. Participants will be able to serve the community and might potentially find employment with these skills.

Trainer's Profile

John Chan

John Chan has been an independent contractor dealing with IT networks, general contract work and coaching at various community centers and community spaces. He later joined Repair Kopitiam to continue spreading the repair culture. He has formulated many parts of the handyman course syllabus and even made the training aids for the course.

Edmund Ho

Edmund Ho has been an electronic engineer for more than 30 years. Currently, Edmund teaches at MOE schools as a freelance trainer for robotics, coding and digital fabrication. Edmund has been a long time supporter and coach with Repair Kopitiam.
