SkillsFuture Credit
Under SkillsFuture Credit, Singapore Citizens aged 25 years and above will receive an initial credit of $500 from 2016.
To empower Singapore Citizens in their learning and skills development, the Government will create a SkillsFuture Credit for all Singapore Citizens aged 25 and above. Singapore Citizens can use the SkillsFuture Credit to take charge of their own learning over the course of their lives. Every Singapore Citizen aged 25 and above will receive an initial credit of $500. These credits will not expire, but can only be used for education and training initiated by individuals, to offset course fees.
Singapore Citizens will be able to use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the following workskills related courses, on top of existing subsidies, such as:
- Courses subsidised by the Singapore Workforce Development Agency (WDA). Please refer to the link for more information
- Courses offered by the Ministry of Education (MOE)-funded Post-Secondary Education Institutions (i.e. Institute of Technical Education, polytechnics, and autonomous universities). Singapore Citizens will also be able to use the credits for selected courses at SIM University, LASALLE College of the Arts, and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts.
- Courses that are Skillsfuture Credit eligible, such as those under the National Silver Academy: www.nsa.org.sg
