Nagomi pastel art is a form of art therapy from Japan. This is a very tactile art form which uses the fingers and pastel pigment powder (from crayon sticks) to create art pieces with a process that reinforces muscle memory, boost morale and inspire positivity. Participants can thus use Nagomi Pastel Art to help one relax and de-stress. positivity and what they have learnt with their elderly family members or grandchildren. It is also an excellent activity for volunteers to share at nursing homes with dementia patients.

Tang Phye Choo (Pearl)
Pearl Tang has great passion in art and craft creations and its activities. Her interests include crochets, knitting, decoupage, air-dry clay sculpture, jewellery-making, crepe paper flowers, soft-pastel painting, Zentangle® etc. Pearl is a Certified Facilitator and Trainer by Workforce Development Agency (WDA) – Advanced Certificate in Training and Assessment (ACTA). She had relevant trainings on :- (1) WSQ - Organise and implement group activities and recreation programmes (2) WSQ - Design and Develop an Effective Volunteer Work Programme (3) Certified trainer – Zentangle® (4) Certified trainer – Japanese Nagomi Pastel Art She is also a PA trainer. Pearl has over 15 years of experience in training and education institutions and is a freelance Teacher in Business studies, English and basic computer. Pearl she is currently actively involved in active ageing activities, such as conducting National Silver Academy (NSA) and Skillsfuture Approved courses on art and craft at various senior activities centres, namely :- - C3A / Lifelong Learning - Montfort Goodlife SAC, - CDAC SAC, - PA CC/RC - Feiyue SAC - Brahm Centre - Rotary Learning Institute - and ad-hoc voluntary events Pearl had also regularly upgrade her skills and had taken many trainings at Social Service Institution (SSI), such as:- Essential skills, organise and implement seniors activities; design and develop an effective Volunteer work programme on AAH and SACs etc.Reviews on Course
