This course equips participants with the skills of Chinese seal engraving, a distinct Chinese art form. Participants will acquire skills in seal engravement, working towards the design and creation of their own name seals. Using stone seals and traditional seal script, they will engrave seals with engraving methods and design a pictorial animal seal. Skills learnt can be applied to professionally enhance learners’ personal artwork such as Chinese Calligraphy or Chinese Ink painting.

Sonas Lim Sia Kwoon is a distinguished alumnus of Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) and a local Arts Practitioner specialising in Chinese art. He has participated in numerous art competitions and achieved the Merit award for Overseas Category in the International Cultural Exchange Jill Sackler Cup Chinese Calligraphy Competition held in China. Since 2001, he actively participates in notable Chinese art exhibitions such as the 1st to 4th Singapore Seal Engravers exhibitions, Lanting Art Society annual exhibitions, Dr Tan Tze Chor exhibition, Passion vs Cognition Alternative Calligraphy exhibition and Chinese calligraphy and seal engraving exhibitions by Fudan University, Shanghai.Reviews on Course
