This interactive workshop provides basic knowledge and skills in communicating with the elderly and assisting them in Activities of Daily Living such as personal hygiene, mobility, feeding and toileting. It also introduces caregiving as a career, particularly for those joining the community care sector or involved in community work with the elderly.

Trainer's Profile

Susie Loh Fong Chee

Susie Loh is a state registered nurse since 1970. She dedicated her life as a nurse practitioner and had held various positions in public healthcare institutions from staff nurse, and nurse educator to director of nursing for more than 40 years. Her professional qualification includes a Certificate in Pedagogy, Gerontology Nursing and Postnatal Home Care. She is currently a locum nurse and delivers training in eldercare programmes.

Lo Chue Har

Lo Chue Har was a nurse since 1991 at SGH, TTSH, NKF and uses her experience to impart her skills and knowledge as nursing lecturer at the ITE in 2000 for 5 years before moving on to Peacehaven Nursing Home. Chue Har is a state registered nurse and has over 10 years of teaching experience. She holds a Diploma in Adult and Continuing Education (DACE) and Bachelor of Nursing in Griffith University.
