Handyman: Home Repair Maintenance

In this 7-hour course, participants will experience the use of power drills for in-home repairs of different materials. They will learn how to drill through wood, tiles, metal, plastic and concrete and install fixtures and screws with wall plugs, replace tiles and patch concrete holes. Participants will learn how to change various types of locks, and install and adjust cabinet hinges. Learning these skills will allow you to make simple repairs at home without waiting for and having to pay servicemen.

Trainer's Profile

John Chan

John Chan has been an independent contractor dealing with IT networks, general contract work and coaching at various community centers and community spaces. He later joined Repair Kopitiam to continue spreading the repair culture. He has formulated many parts of the handyman course syllabus and even made the training aids for the course.

Edmund Ho

Edmund Ho has been an electronic engineer for more than 30 years. Currently, Edmund teaches at MOE schools as a freelance trainer for robotics, coding and digital fabrication. Edmund has been a long time supporter and coach with Repair Kopitiam.
