In this course, participants will learn about plant growth requirements, plant care & maintenance. Knowledge of simple methods of composting using horticultural or kitchen waste such as vegetable & fruit scraps will be shared. Hands-on activities will include preparing your soil mix, making your pots using household materials and various methods of propagation. Topics covered include understanding plant growth requirements, plant selection, how to prepare soil mix, making your containers with household materials, maintaining healthy plants, propagation as an alternative to purchasing plants and the basics of composting.
