In this one-day course, you will acquire the following: competency in the art and process of soap making, skills relating to its different techniques, and knowledge of the health benefits of homemade soaps and their ingredients, including their ecological benefits. You will also acquire skills to customize the ingredients of your soap for differing requirements and to carry out the Cold and Melt & Pour processes of soap making – each participant will make a piece(s) of soap from the provided ingredients that will have your preferred colour and fragrance.

Well taught by Dr Hia. She knows how to explain the chemical composition of each oil and gave us the formula to calculate the weight of each oil with correct amount of lye to be used in cold process soap making. Quite a scientific way of making a bar of soap. Looking the part in white coat and working in the lab made the whole learning experience fun. We also learnt the Melt and Pour method with our own creative designs. It was a fun day in the lab , creating and bringing home our own bar of soap
