This course introduces seniors to mental well-being and common issues that affect it. The course also provides experiential learning and practical tips on how to promote and maintain mental well-being, as well as build one’s resilience for successful ageing. At the end of the course, participants will be aware of some of the most common mental well-being issues faced by seniors and why they occur, be able to recognise the signs and symptoms of these mental well-being issues and know of approaches, techniques, and resources to prevent and manage them. These will help participants acquire a positive outlook towards ageing.

Tan Yong Hong (Chris) has been serving active seniors, frail seniors and seniors with dementia and depression for the past 5 years. He has been designing activities to promote active aging for the active seniors and delay deterioration to frail and seniors with dementia. He has also been managing volunteers for the past 6 years in Fei Yue and most of his volunteers are above 65 years old.
