Michael Oher (Quinton Aaron), 17 years old, could have been just another African-American teen lost in the suburbs of Memphis, Tennessee. Taken from his drug-addict mother by Child Protective Services, he moves from one foster home to another, till one day, he finds himself enrolled in Wingate, an all-white Christian private high school, to play for its football team.
Leigh Anne Tuohy (Sandra Bullock) has lived in Memphis her whole life. Married to her college sweetheart, Sean, and with her two children enrolled in Wingate, she seems to be living the American dream.
One cold night on the eve of Thanksgiving, their lives collide on a chance encounter. A kind gesture is offered and eventually changes their lives in significant ways.
This heartwarming film is based on the real-life story of American football player, Michael Oher, from the book by Michael Lewis. Don’t miss Sandra Bullock in her Oscar-winning performance of a feisty and compassionate woman, determined to give a homeless teen a chance to experience family, and a better life.
