The South East Community Development Council (CDC) was set up on 24 November 2001. Spanning the scenic eastern coast of Singapore, the South East District is home to more than 551,000 residents.
The South East District comprises of the Marine Parade Group Representative Constituency (GRC), East Coast GRC, Joo Chiat Single Member Constituency (SMC), Mountbatten SMC and Potong Pasir SMC.
A Social Broker
At the helm of the SECDC is Mayor Maliki Bin Osman, who firmly believes in the 'ABCs of Community Bonding' – Assisting the Needy, Bonding with the People and Connecting with the Community. With these tenets in mind, SECDC hopes to build a community, with residents and stakeholders, where everyone can feel a sense of belonging and pride.
As a social broker, SECDC works closely with partners to support, facilitate and empower community through initiating projects.
