Singaporean saxophonist Daniel Chia and Malaysian pianist John Dip Silas come from very different dimensions of jazz, but a shared love of connecting through music has allowed them to blend their art seamlessly. Having played together many times both in Singapore and Malaysia, they bring their own unique flavour to the table. Expect a combination of their originals, jazz and interpretations of pop tunes. Come with an open heart, mind and spirit and witness this cross-cultural collaboration in full flow.
About Daniel Chia
Soulful, funky, and energetic, saxophonist Daniel Chia plays his signature brand of disco jazz. Getting in the studio with 2-time Grammy Award winning producer and guitarist, Paul Brown, Daniel's debut full-length album of original songs features the finest international smooth jazz artists. His performances have thrilled audiences at the MIDEM Festival in France and the Sunburst International Festival in Malaysia. He has also performed at ZoukOut, Music Matters Festival, Mosaic Music Festival, Audi Fashion Festival and Earth Hour, amongst many others.
About John Dip Silas
John Dip Silas is an internationally acclaimed jazz pianist originating from Malaysia. Having performed at an array of jazz venues around Australia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Thailand and Malaysia, Dip Silas has worked with a number of accomplished musicians such as Tony Lakatos (DE), Shunzo Ohno (JP), Michael Simon (VE), Diego Maroto (MX), Rodrigo Villanueva (MX), Maciej Fortuna (PL), Chika Asamoto (JP), James Flynn (AU), Phil Scorgie (NZ), Amelia Ong (ID), John Thomas (MY), Marques Young (USA), Scott Murphy (UK), Ashton Moore (USA), Juwita Suwito (MY) and many more. Dip Silas also leads a six-piece modern jazz ensemble in Kuala Lumpur called NewSound, which recently released a debut album in early-2018.
