About Shak & The Baits
Since their inception in 2016, Shak & The Baits has seen their following in Singapore grow steadily. The band is led by Shak (or Shak'thiya), a spoken-word poetry artist turned singer-songwriter who chronicles his life story through self-penned folk tunes and lyrics. Inspired by soul, blues, folk-pop and hip hop, Shak’s rich, soulful voice conveys lyrics that tugs at the deepest recesses of your heart.
Shak & The Baits has performed on both local and international stages like Fringe Manila (2018), Singapore Night Festivals (2016, 2017) and Singapore River Festival (2017). Shak is also one of the featured artists in this year's National Day theme song We Are Singapore.
About Jeffrey Tan
Jeffrey is a jazz violinist and aspiring composer/arranger based in Singapore. Jeffrey started playing the violin since the age of 5 and has not looked back since. He has performed internationally and locally with acts such as award-winning country artist Courtney Conway (AU), local guitar hero Addy Cradle and eclectic music group Flame of the Forest.
